Dolly Parton is at it again! The superstar is partnering with Jeni’s, an ice cream shop headquartered in Ohio, to bring a new flavor to the menu. The proceeds from this limited run ice cream benefits The Imagination Library, one of Dolly’s charities. Learn more about this partnership below:
Dolly Parton Ice Cream
When you think of Dolly, you probably think of the rolling hills of Tennessee. In true country fashion, the flavor of her ice cream emulates a great southern dessert. The ice cream flavor is strawberry pretzel pie. It includes pretzel streusel, cream cheese ice cream, and strawberry sauce.
Her flavor will be released April 8, 2021. This is a limited edition flavor, and Jeni’s announced they made one run of it, which equals about 10,000 pints. They expect it to sell quickly, so you should be prepared. If you want to taste it in person at one of their brick and mortar locations, they suggest getting to the store before they open. If you want to purchase it online, be on the website at noon so you can grab your pint. There is a limit of two pints per purchase online.

As we previously stated, this ice cream flavor will benefit The Imagination Library. Dolly Parton’s charity was launched in 1995, sending books to children ages 0 to 5 years old in Sevier County, Tennessee. The initiative was so successful, it was expanded to go national in 2000. They have hit several milestones, the latest one being its 150 millionth book being given away in 2020.
Dolly started this charity because of her father. He couldn’t read, and she has expressed that if he had the ability to read, he may have been able to fulfill all of his dreams. Dolly has said that inspiring kids to read became her mission, and that’s why The Imagination Library came to fruition. She just wanted children in her home county to have access to books, but this charity quickly became a worldwide sensation.
