If you’re daydreaming at the office about hiking through the mountains, it’s probably time to book a getaway to Pigeon Forge! With email, laptops and smartphones, however, it can be hard to completely escape from your daily life – even when you’re on vacation. So, here’s our best 6 tips for disconnecting during your Pigeon Forge vacation.

1. Clear Your Work Schedule

If you are constantly checking in with your office or worrying about work for your entire vacation, it may not be your most relaxing trip. Cover all of your bases before you head out by making sure someone is available to handle any emergencies that may occur at work. You also need to make it clear that you are going off the grid and won’t be available until you return to your job, so no one will be trying to call you during your getaway .

2. Give Your Computer a Break

This is your vacation, so it’s time to turn off that laptop for anything except fun and games – at least for a few hours each day!

3. Turn Off Your Phone

We tend to be almost physically attached to our phones, but this is the time to turn the phone off or at least don’t spend as much time on it. Once you get past the initial anxiety of being without your phone, you’ll be able to see how quiet it is in the Smoky Mountains without the presence of that constantly beeping device. Many people really enjoy hiking for this reason alone. Typically phone service in the national park is limited, so when you get out into the mountains, you’re really able to escape.

4. Take Time to Relax Around Your Cabin

Your mind and your body need a chance to relax, so don’t be in too much of a hurry on vacation. Depending on the cabin you choose, you can walk right out your door and fish in a river, relax in your private hot tub, private indoor pool, or play billiards right in your cabin’s own game room.
